| We
are equipped to deal with most printing projects, large or small. We
specialize in multi-color projects that require careful attention to
detail. Around-the-clock staffing ensures we can meet the most demanding
schedule requirements. Our greatest strength is that our employees all
share a commitment to exceptional customer service.
If you'd like to see what kind of equipment we use, click on the link above. Everything is state-of-the-art: electronic prepress, digital proofing, and a wide variety of sheet-fed press equipment in sizes up to 40". Our facility also features complete bindery and shipping departments. The fact that our Quality Management System is registered to the ISO 9001 standard (Certificate # 0035257) might not be as exciting as all that high-tech gear, but it's just as important to the quality of our work, if not more so. Only systems that meet the very stringent requirements set by the International Organization for Standardization can earn registration. Very few printers (less than one-percent) have achieved this distinction. We are serious
about our commitment to sustainability and the environment. View the Neyenesch Quality and Environmental Policy here. |

FILE PREPARATION TIPS |
| The following are some tips to help you prepare your files. Following these simple rules will help prevent most output problems from occurring - saving you time and money. If you have any questions, please contact your Neyenesch sales representative. | |
| Fonts | |
1.
It is best to use Type 1 PostScript fonts. Include both the screen and printer fonts. True Type fonts are not fully compatible with high-resolution image setters and are therefore unpredictable. |
2.
Do not use style attributes (italics, bold, etc). If you want a font to be bold or italic, choose the bold/italic version of that font directly from the font list. |
3.
All fonts used in the document, including those used in graphics, should be submitted along with the application files. For PostScript and PDF files, all fonts should be embedded in the PS or PDF file. |
| Colors | |
4.
Make sure you select the right color type: spot, process or Pantone. Any spot or Pantone color must have an identical name defined in your layout and its associated files to prevent the color from being treated as a process color. CVU, CV, etc extensions to the color name must also be identical in all associated files. |
5.
When working with 4-color images, convert all graphics to CMYK rather than LAB, RGB, or any other color format. |
| Graphics | |
6.
When graphics are being used, send all supporting graphic files along with the application files. |
7.
Line art should be scanned at 600 dpi (minimum) and halftones (photographs) at 300 dpi. |
8.
Graphics optimized for the web at 72 dpi will not print well. |
9.
The resolution of an image is expressed in terms of dots per inch (dpi). For image scans to print correctly, the resolution should be approximately 1.5 to 2 times the line screen to be used at 100%. |
10.
Avoid resizing graphics in layout applications. If the 300 dpi scan is scaled 200% in the layout application, the resulting output resolution for that image will equal 150 dpi. If an image is scaled to 25% in the layout application, it will be at 1200 dpi and will lose quality. |
| Page Layout | |
11.
The best page layout programs to use are QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign. |
12.
The document page size should be the same dimension as the trim size of your publication; 1/8" bleeds are required beyond the trim marks. Insert blank pages where they would appear in the finished document to keep all ODD numbered pages as right-handed pages and EVEN numbered pages as left-handed pages. |
| File Transfer | |
13.
When possible, use a preflight function before releasing files (i.e. collect for output in QuarkXPress). |
14.
Please provide your files to us on CD or DVD with a complete set of lasers, including any blank pages. You may also transfer files electronically. Please refer to the instructions in the file transfer section of our web site. After confirmation, please let your Neyenesch sales representative know that you sent files. |
15.
We recommend you send the application files including all support and fonts. This way if there are any edits we can make them to the application files and you save time by not having to resend files. |
16.
If you transfer files via the internet, please include a high resolution pdf file. When creating pdf files with bleeds be sure to set the page size to 1/8" larger than the trim size. |
